योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्
The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal on 23rd June 2026, with the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” The theme highlights that healthy ageing is not simply about living longer, but about living better and improving the quality of life as we grow older.
Led by our yoga instructor and physical education teachers, the programme aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well – being. The celebration commenced with a speech by Yogesh of class 10 about the significance of celebrating yoga day followed by an invocation song by the students of classes 3 to 8 that created a serene and positive atmosphere. Our Sanskrit faculty Sri. Vivekananda then led the gathering in shloka chanting, filling the environment with spiritual energy and inspiring everyone present.
The students across the levels performed yogasanas in an impressive Shankha formation, showcasing their coordination, flexibility, and discipline.
All the participants of selective yogasana display from classes 3 to 9 took their positions on the mat to perform. The associated benefits of practicing each asana was being illustrated by students from the same class group. This helped the audience understand how yoga contributes to physical strength, concentration, and stress management. A vibrant and rhythmic yoga performance added colour and energy to the event and showcased the synchronised exhibit by the students of classes 3 to 9.
This was followed by a graceful performance of Surya Namaskar by the students of classes 3 to 6, highlighting the significance of this ancient practice of showing gratitude to Surya Bhagwan.
The Vice Principal addressed the gathering and emphasized on the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life. The speech highlighted yoga as a valuable tool for achieving a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
The programme concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, spreading the message of peace, harmony, and well-being. The celebration was a grand success and inspired students to foster a sense of mindfulness, and encourage a healthy lifestyle through the practice of yoga.
YOGA DOES NOT CHANGE THE WORLD AROUND US,
IT CHANGES THE WAY WE FACE THE WORLD
