Annual Day Celebration 2024-25 at Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur

The Annual Day Celebration for the academic year 2024-25 at Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur, was a grand and memorable occasion, showcasing a perfect blend of inspiration, education, and entertainment. The theme for the event, Patriotism, Freedom Fighters, and Nationalism, was thoughtfully chosen to ignite a sense of pride and responsibility among students and attendees alike.

The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Lieutenant General B.S. Raju, a highly respected and decorated officer of the Indian Army. His illustrious career, marked by dedication and valour, has made remarkable contributions to safeguarding India’s borders and fostering peace in challenging regions. Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant General B.S. Raju emphasized the importance of discipline, caring for the environment, service, and love for the nation. He urged the students to strive for excellence in all their endeavours while upholding the values of unity, diversity, and respect for the nation’s heritage.

The programme was presided over by Sri K. Harish, Chairman of Vagdevi Vilas Institutions and Former Scientist at ISRO. Under his leadership, the event reflected the school’s commitment to holistic education and fostering national pride.

The theme of Patriotism and Nationalism was brought to life through an array of vibrant and thought-provoking cultural performances:

Pre-Primary students stole the show with their lively presentation, Rock and Rollick, which filled the stage with energy and enthusiasm.

Students from Classes 1 to 4 took the audience on a meaningful journey through Jeevan Ki Yatra, showcasing the beauty of life and the values that shape a strong community.

• Classes 5 to 10 presented Azadi Ki Kahaniyaan, a series of skits and performances depicting inspiring stories from India’s freedom struggle, paying tribute to the sacrifices of our great leaders and freedom fighters.

These performances included skits highlighting key moments from India’s independence movement and cultural dances representing India’s rich diversity that resonated deeply with the audience.

The programme aimed to instil values of unity, respect for the freedom fighters

and a sense of responsibility in shaping a better future for the country. The emphasis on patriotism—a deep love for one’s country—and nationalism—a commitment to preserving and strengthening the nation’s identity—was seamlessly woven into every performance.
