International Yoga Day Celebration

“Yoga makes us find the peace which lies within us”

International Yoga Day is observed on 21st June every year in order to create awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world.

 Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice. It plays an important role in relaxing the mind, body and boosting people’s immune system.

9th  International Yoga day was celebrated by the students and the teachers of Vagdevi   Vilas School , Varthur on 21st June 2023(Wednesday) ,with great  zeal and enthusiasm.The theme for this year was “ YOGA FOR VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM”.

 A formal programme was conducted during school hours from 9.00 am. The programme was presided over  by  Dr R.B.B Raghunath (Taluk Health officer) and    

Sri Premkumar Muddi (Yoga Instructor) and Kumari Nirmala.S (Yoga practitioner & of recipient of bronze medal – National Olympics) were the chief guest for the function.

 Dr R B B Raghunath inspired the students with his powerful words and motivational thoughts .  Students of std 5,6 & 7 performed selected group yogic asanas on the stage. Students of Std I -X participated in the mass display .

The body achieves what the mind believes. Through a breath taking demonstration, Kum. Nirmala grabbed the attention of the students  through her flexible postures . Students were amazed at her performance and were inspired to continue yoga in their daily lives.
